_ You can give as a couple in dating and relationships. Whether it’s during the holiday season or any other time of the year being nice to others can help strengthen a couples relationship.

Growing up men and their wives used to give in many ways. It could be a little thing like watching a friend or neighbor’s kids while they were not home. It could be a big thing like going around giving senior citizens food baskets at Christmas. Many of the things that men did were through the church or an organization like the Elks. Often their wives would be members and contributors as well. 

How to do this in dating and relationships? Well you could do things through the church as mentioned. You and your wife or girlfriend could fellowship by joining the choir or teaching Sunday school. You could be ushers. Or you could simply bring a soul to service one Sunday a month.

Organizations like the Elks are not as prevalent as they used to be, but there are still ones that you and your partner can join and work with. For example, if you have school aged children there is always the Parent’s Teacher’s Association (PTA). As for dating and relationships there are always shelters and charitable organizations looking for help. My nephew and his girlfriend work very hard to raise money for Alzheimer’s.  

Of course parents with children want them to participate in activities outside of school. There is nothing wrong with helping out with athletics as a coach or team parent. If your child is into the arts maybe you can help build their studios or stage sets when they perform a play or dance.  

I have seen couples who are dating or in relationships help out by doing chores for the elderly. Christmas in April is a good organization here in Maryland where they go around refurbishing homes for the elderly. Many of the people involved are young couples who volunteer their time four weeks out of the year and beyond. 

So men, remember dating and relationships is not all about what you and your partner do for each other. It is also about what you do for others. One person can make a big difference in the world. Two together can do even more.  A group of people can change the world. 

Helping people together can go a long ways towards helping in dating and relationships too.
